Information Acquisition

The website that I found was http://www.springerlink.com/home/main.mpx which contains journals, book series, books, reference work, protocols and Online Archives Collection. The main page has a search engine for you to search certain topics. There is also two coloumns in which you can choose a content type or subject collection. The content type includes the journals, books, reference work, etc. The subject collection has a number of topics including Architecture and Design, Professional and Applied Computing, Mathematics, Science, and Physics just to name a few. This website is very user friendly, easy to navigate through the pages. Positives that were evident on the site was the registration being available online at no cost. Members have access to certain materials that nonmembers don't have. There are places that save your visited items online under order history and marked items. Marked items allows the user to select items of interest that were found during his/her session. This makes its easier for the user to retrieve visited pages when they log back in. There is a place located at the bottom of the homepage where you can click on General Information about Books. This allows you to get an abstract of a certain book that you may be interested in purchasing. There are so many positives to this website that I could name them all day. The only negative is that it doesn't contain all subject areas. This website is very valuable to the 21st century because it does have information that deals directly with education today. There are articles that are very informative about the technology integration into the schools. This is also a reason why I would recommend this website to teachers and administrators. Overall this website is awesome! It contains information that would be beneficial to the entire school community. It's an abundance of information waiting right at your fingertips!
